MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. (April 28, 2018)- In the final home game for the 2018 senior class, the Milligan College baseball team dropped game three to No. 23 Tennessee Wesleyan University 6-3 despite a rally early at Anglin Field Saturday afternoon.
ÂÂ
Milligan finished the regular season falling to 11-16 in the Appalachian Athletic Conference (18-29 overall). No. 23 Tennessee Wesleyan improved to 21-6 in the AAC (34-18 overall).

CLUTCH IN THE THIRD
Momentum shifted with a heads up double play from catcher
Clayton Conner, who turned two by catching a pop up and throwing out the runner on second returning to the base salvaging the inning and setting up the Buffs for the bottom half of the inning.
ÂÂ
Despite trailing earlier in the game with a two-run RBI single, the Buffs were able to battle back in the bottom of the third with a pair of hits from seniors
Jascanel Ferreras and
Chris Patterson. Ferreras split the third baseman and short stop to drive in
Hunter Suggs from second. Shortly after, Patterson drove one to deep left-center field to drive in two more to tie the game at 3-3.
ÂÂ
LATE SURGE COMES UP SHORT
With a leadoff home run from Suggs to start off the bottom of the ninth, the Buffs surged late in the game to pull within two. However, it proved to not be enough as the Buffs fell to the Bulldogs 6-4.
ÂÂ
BULLDOGS RALLY FOR THE LEAD
A pair of hits drove in two runs for a 5-3 lead in the fifth. A triple to deep left center from Wesleyan's Alfred Cruz gave the Bulldogs the lead, while Malik Stephens doubled down the left field line to extend the lead to two, proving to be the game winning runs.
