MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. (Sept. 22, 2018) â€" Despite a match-high 21 digs from
Alyssa Rupert, the Milligan College volleyball team (9-4, 3-2) dropped their second consecutive match Saturday afternoon in straight sets (14-25, 16-25, 14-25) inside Steve Lacy Fieldhouse to Appalachian Athletic Conference member Reinhardt (15-4, 6-0). The loss marked the first time this season that the Buffaloes have dropped consecutive games.
BY THE NUMBERS
Freshman
Elise Gregory led the Milligan attack with seven kills, followed by
Abby Falcone and
Julie Dockery who tallied six each. Gregory also registered 12 digs on the afternoon.
Kellee Geren dished out 18 assists and recorded five digs.
Overall, the Buffs struggled offensively with only 24 kills on 117 attempts as Reinhardt's defense posted 59 digs and six team blocks. The Eagles were led by Tessa Colden who finished with a double-double (12 kills and 13 digs).
UP NEXT
The Buffs will finish off their four game homestand with matches against Bluefield College, Tuesday, Sept. 25, at 6:30 p.m. and Montreat College, Thursday, Sept. 27, at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Milligan will travel to Allen University and Columbia College to make up the matches that were postponed due to Hurricane Florence.
