Sarah Robinson posted her seventh double-double of the season, but clutch free throw by No. 13 Bryan down the stretch snapped the No. 22 Milligan College women's basketball team's six game winning streak as they fell 68-64 Saturday in a battle of the top two teams in the Appalachian Athletic Conference.

The loss dropped the Buffaloes to 22-5 overall and 20-3 in conference play. Bryan (25-1, 23-0) was able to clinch the regular season AAC title with the win as they are three games up on Milligan with only three regular season contests left.

FURIOUS LATE SURGE BY MILLIGAN FALLS SHORT
Trailing nine points with 2:25 remaining in the game, the Buffs used a 10-1 run to draw within one point of the Lions lead with 24 seconds left in the contest. Robinson jumpstarted the run with a bucket down low and
Andi Lamb followed with a layup setting up a wild sequence on Milligan's next possession.

After To'Nesha Allison of Bryan netted one of two free throws to make it 65-59, Milligan's
Emma Kate Brown caught the ball on the right wing, pumped faked and sidestepped to her left and knocked down a massive 3-pointer to cut the lead to 65-62 with 15 seconds left.

During the shot, Robinson drew a foul underneath the basket and was awarded two foul shots following the Brown make. The senior netted both and the Buffs were within one point of the lead. Milligan fouled on the ensuing Lions possession and Amber Levi made the pair extending the Bryan lead to three.

Milligan got a solid look from the corner by
Cassidy Anderson on their next possession, but the ball hit off the rim and bounced out of bounds giving the ball back to Bryan. Allison split a pair of free throws on the other end sealing the win for the Lions.

BUFFS JUMP ON TOP EARLY
Milligan started strong outscoring Bryan 15-10 in the opening quarter led by strong defense that held the Lions to 28.6 percent shooting.

The Buffs used an 8-0 run during the quarter in which five different Milligan players scored to stretch out the early lead.
Mackenzie Raizor started the run with a layup and was followed by Lamb,
Kaely Gose and
Teal Davis.

Bryan made a late push in the second quarter, but the Buffs headed into the locker room with a 28-27 lead at the break.

A 6-0 run to start the third allowed Bryan to retake the lead and they would never relinquish it again.

BY THE NUMBERS
Brown led the Buffs offensively with 14 points on 4-of-7 shooting and finished the day 3-of-4 from the behind the arc. Brown also hauled in five rebounds on the afternoon.

Robinson followed with her 13 points and Lamb rounded out the three Buffs in double figures with 11 points. Lamb also added six rebounds on the day.

Three other Buffs contributed at least four points led by Raizor with eight, while Davis and Gose chipped in six and four respectively.

FOR BRYAN
Shayla Ludy led the way for Bryan with 19 points, nine of which came in the third period. Allison followed with 14 points and Deandra Luna and Levi chipped in 11 and 10 respectively.

SENIOR RECOGNITION
It was senior day for Milligan and after the game, the Buffs recognized the 11 graduating players. Robinson, Raizor, Lamb, Anderson,

Lexi Weddle,
Kasey Gordon,
Morgan Gose,
Savannah Raizor and
Megan Pietrowski were the 10 seniors that were honored. Milligan also honored
Hannah Crowder, who is a member of the JV team that is graduating early.
