Women's basketball drops road finale at Columbia

COLUMBIA, S.C. (Feb. 13, 2021) – Another double-digit game for freshman Jaycie Jenkins plus a career high-tying effort from freshman Erin Larkin, but the Milligan University women's basketball team fell at Columbia, 76-60, Saturday afternoon on the road.

Jenkins scored 19 points for her 14th straight game and 21st this season scoring double figures. Larkin scored 10 points as the only other Buffalo in double figures.

Columbia led the whole way, including building a lead of 15 in the opening quarter thanks to a 19-4 run to start the game. Milligan cut that lead in half during the second quarter but another big run would see the Koalas go ahead by 21 at the break and by 28 in the third quarter.

After Jenkins and Larkin, Lily Griffith and Halie Padgett both scored eight, and Stacia Wilson scored six points off the bench.

Up next, Milligan hosts Montreat on Wednesday, Feb. 17, at 5 p.m. inside Steve Lacy Fieldhouse. The game can be followed online via milliganbuffs.com.
