Game Recap: Baseball |

Fraley homers twice as Buffs split St. Andrews

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (March 20, 2021) – After a quiet first game, the Milligan University baseball team's bats came to life in the second game to help the Buffaloes split a doubleheader with St. Andrews Saturday afternoon at TVA Credit Union Ballpark. St. Andrews won the first game 6-3 before Milligan won the second game 9-3.

Milligan saw its five-game winning streak come to an end but has still won six of the last seven.

Augustus Fraley went 2-for-4 in the first game, including hitting a two-run homer in the eighth inning, but the Buffaloes were already behind 6-1 by that point.

While it was not enough for the Buffs to overcome the late deficit in game one, they used the spark to create plenty of fire in game two.

Milligan scored in all but one frame in the nightcap and went out to an 8-3 lead through four innings. Justin Greene hit a two-run homer of his own in the second inning, then Fraley followed with his second long ball of the day with a solo blast to left in the third and Anthony Guzman hit a solo homer in the fourth.

Guzman's home run was his fourth of the season, and the Buffs kept the scoring going in the same frame with their biggest inning of the game featuring three runs.

On the hill, Cobey Allison went the first four innings and picked up the win before Jacob Crumbly picked up the save with a full three innings of relief. Crumbly struck out three, including the last batter of the game.

Up next, Milligan and St. Andrews will decide the series Sunday at 1 p.m. back here at TVA Credit Union Ballpark.
