CLEVELAND, Ga. (October 15, 2022) – The Milligan University volleyball team bounced back with a 2-0 day at Truett McConnell on Saturday afternoon.

The Buffs advanced to 14-10 and 10-5 in the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC).

Game 1 – Milligan 3, Truett McConnell 1 (25-23, 20-25, 25-13, 25-22)

The Buffs and Bears played competitive first and fourth sets with Milligan coming out on top in both for the four-set road conference victory.

Shelby Miller racked up 17 kills on a .448 hitting percentage with eight digs and two blocks. Ella Maiden had 10 kills and six blocks. Sarah Grace Larkey added seven kills and Greyson Stevens had six kills.

Kolbie Greene accumulated 42 assists, 17 digs and five kills. Paxton Adkins had 14 digs.

The Buffs combined for 12 total blocks, compared to five for Truett McConnell. Milligan had 48 kills with a .191 hitting percentage while TMU finished with 42 kills and a .065 hitting percentage.

Game 2 – Milligan 3, Bob Jones 0 (25-19, 25-21, 25-16)

The Buffs rolled to a three-set nonconference triumph over Bob Jones in the Buffs' second contest of the day.

Milligan pounded 18 kills at a .311 clip in the first set as the Buffs battled back from a 16-14 deficit to win the set 25-19. The second set was a one-point game (16-15 Milligan) before the Buffs rallied to awin 25-21. Milligan raced out to a 16-6 lead in the third set to take the three-set sweep.

Miller had a dozen kills. Maiden finished with 11 kills and three blocks. Greene racked up 26 assists. Adkins had 17 digs and seven assists. Hannah Holmes chipped in with 10 digs.

Milligan returns home Tuesday evening for an important AAC matchup with Bluefield.
