LAS VEGAS, Nev. - The Milligan University women's bowling squad finished up the 2024 chunk of their season as they competed in the Tier 1 Collegiate Shoot-out in Las Vegas, Nev. The Lady Buffs would finish sixth overall out of 38 teams. This was another great showing by the Lady Buffs in Las Vegas making it to the bracket play portion of the event, ultimately falling short to St. Xavier in the semifinals. The Buffs would finish with a total pins score of 7,698 across the two-day event.
Taylor Davis was the highest finishing Buff in the event coming in 18th place with a total score of 990, just five pins back of 15th place in the event. Davis highest game score came in game five with a total score of 222. The average output across the five games for Davis was 198.
Emily Cheesman and Emilea Sturk each bowled a total of four games in the two-day event. Cheesman finished with a total score of 796 while Sturk totaled a score of 716. Cheesman's highest score total came in game three as she totaled a score of 243. Sturk would bowl a high of 216 in game number one of the event. Cheesman finished with an average score of 199 pins across the four games. Sturk's average for the event came to 179.
Gracie Wyatt bowled three games in the event and finished with a total score of 586. Allison Robbins and Laci Macquisten would also finish three games for the Lady Buffs in Vegas, bowling averages of 180.33 and 176.33, respectively. Emily King finished two games in the event for the Buffs with an average score of 205.5. Emilee Horton rounded out the individual scores for the Buffs with a total score of 142 in a single game.
The Buffaloes will be back in action in 2025 as they will travel to Louisville, Ky. to compete in the Lynne Jordan Memorial and Thomas Burris Memorial on Jan. 25 and 26, respectively.
