Buffaloes Volleyball Splits on Opening Day of 2024 Campaign

MILLIGAN, Tenn. The Milligan University volleyball squad began their season on Friday inside Steve Lacy Fieldhouse as part of Milligan Mountain Madness. The Buffs managed a split on the day, falling 3-1 to Point University in match number one, but emerging triumphant against (RV) Blue Mountain Christian University by a 3-1 tally.

Avery Maiden and Shelby Miller combined for 24 kills in the nightcap victory, while Kolbie Greene dished out 33 assists. Maiden posted a double-double, having tallied 12 kills and 15 digs.

Isabel Cameron showed up defensively in her first day of collegiate competition, tallying a solo block and six block assists against BMCU. Addison Varney also added value at the net, stopping one shot solo and assisting on three rejections.

Milligan held Blue Mountain to just a .067 hitting percentage. The Toppers committed 33 errors in the match in comparison to Milligan's 21.

The Buffaloes will be back at it on Saturday, as they face off with the University of Rio Grande (Ohio) at 10 a.m. and the University of the Cumberlands (Ky.) at 2:30 p.m.
