McGaha Secures All-Tournament Nod, No. 20 Buffs Women's Golf Places Fourth at Gibson Bay

RICHMOND, Ky. – Milligan University's No. 20-ranked women's golf squad played their penultimate fall event of the year on Monday and Tuesday, heading out to Richmond, Ky. at the Gibson Bay Golf Club for the Gibson Bay Intercollegiate. The squad's first three-round event of the year resulted in a top-five finish from an individual, as well as a fourth-place showing as a team.

Bailey McGaha continues her surge to the top of the Buffaloes' ranks, notching her second All-Tournament honor of the season with a tie for fourth place at the Gibson Bay Intercollegiate. McGaha finished with an overall score of 15-over-par at 231 strokes. The first two rounds—played on day one—added up to be 153 with scores of 75 and 78 strokes, respectively. The final 18 holes on day two resulted in another 78 on the par-72 course.

Tessa Wilck was the next Milligan golfer to finish, placing 11th at +22 for the event. After rounds of eight-over-par and nine-over-par, she notched a +5 showing at 77 strokes to climb up the leaderboard.

Just a single stroke behind Wilck was Mallory TeVrucht, who tied for 12th place. Her score looked stellar after the first day, as she matched McGaha with rounds of 78 and 75. Unfortunately, the final round was not kind to her. She shot +14 for 86 strokes, which thrust her out of contention for All-Tournament plaudits.

Tied in 24th, Catalina Easley compiled a score of +34 with rounds of 85, 80 and 85 strokes. Christa Woodard rounded out the list of Milligan's counting scores with a +40 tournament in a tie for 29th place.

Madison Butler played as an individual at the event and placed 34th at 44-over-par across three rounds.

The Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Fall Preview Championship, held at The Governors Towne Club in Acworth, Ga., is the final stop on the Milligan women's golf fall schedule. The tournament takes place on Oct. 20-21 and will serve as a barometer for the team prior to their competitive spring season.
