"I know our student-athletes and our staff are really excited to get the indoor season rolling," Layne said. "The first week provides an opportunity for our sprinters, jumpers, hurdlers, and throwers to get a benchmark - they have been working hard all fall. Overall, we're positioned very well regionally and that gives us a great opportunity to compete in a number of quality facilities."

A pair of early-season single-day meets start the slate, as the men and women head to the Montreat College Track & Field Exam on Thursday, Dec. 4 in Black Mountain, N.C. They then trek to Winston-Salem, N.C. for the Visit Winston-Salem College Kickoff event on that Saturday, Dec. 6.

Following the winter break, the teams come back to the Virginia Tech Invitational in Blacksburg, Va., as the Jan.16-17 meet is the first opportunity for the teams to face NCAA Division I competition during the season. The Mondo College Invitational in Winston-Salem takes place on the 17th, as well, as a few athletes will be heading there instead of VT.

The Finn Pincus Invitational at Roanoke College in Virginia is the next scheduled event. It takes place Jan. 20-21 to round out the month of January for the teams.

Lexington, Va. is the site of the final regular-season event for the Buffaloes, as the VMI Winter Relays will be on Feb. 6-7 at the NCAA Division I Virginia Military Institute. It will be the final tune up for Milligan before they head into postseason competition.

The Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Indoor Track & Field Championships are next on the docket for the Buffs' squads, as the event in Winston-Salem, N.C. on Feb. 20-21 is the penultimate meet of the season that Milligan will participate in.

The NAIA Indoor Track & Field Championships will be held in Gainesville, Fla. this season, and serves as the only three-day event of the indoor season, from March 5-7.
