FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — On Thursday and Friday, the Milligan University cycling team participated in the USA Cycling Collegiate Cyclocross National Championships in Fayetteville, Ark. The Buffaloes had a strong showing, including an individual runner-up finish.
In the first event Thursday, the women's individual race,
Kaya Schroeder took home Milligan's best finish. She placed 14th out of a field of 40.
Emma Clark (22nd) and
Javiera Garrido (30th) were also in the top 30 finishers for the Buffs.
On the men's side, Thursday's individual championship resulted in a runner-up placement for
Brody McDonald, who continues to have a storied career for MU. Beyond him,
Jack Flippin also ended up in the top 30, placing 22nd in the race.
Friday's team relay concluded with the Buffs placing sixth in the varsity race.
The Buffaloes now have some time to prepare for their spring Road season, which begins with an event at Piedmont in Demorest, Ga. on March 14-15.
