GREER, S.C. – Milligan University's No. 20-ranked women's golf squad took to the links in Greer, S.C. on Monday and Tuesday at the Upstate Fall Invitational, hosted by North Greenville University. The predominantly NCAA Division II-attended event resulted in an eighth-place finish for the Buffaloes. After a tough first round, the team returned to play a much better second set of 18 holes.

Bailey McGaha and freshman
Tessa Wilck tied for 15
th overall at 13-over-par for the tournament. McGaha shot a frustrating 83 in the first round, but she was able to steer the ship back on track in the second round, scoring a 74 to climb the leaderboard with the fourth-best score of any golfer in the field. Wilck was more consistent, notching rounds of 78 and 79, respectively.
Mallory TeVrucht closed the event in a tie for 30
th place, shooting +20 over the pair of rounds. Like many of the Buffs' players, her first round was a difficult one, in which she scored an 85. She shaved six strokes off that total on day two, closing with 164 shots taken.
Catalina Easley, after missing the East Tennessee Collegiate, returned to the course with a 39
th-place finish at 168 strokes. Her 24-over-par score was comprised of a round of 86 and another of 82 strokes.
Madison Butler came away from the tourney in 59
th place, posting rounds of 92 and 93 strokes.
The Buffaloes now head to the Battle at the Bay Match Play Championship at Gibson Bay Golf Club in Richmond, Ky. on Oct. 13-14, where they will face off with several highly-ranked NAIA squads in match play format.
