PULASKI, Tenn. – On Friday, Milligan's men's and women's tennis teams traveled to Pulaski, Tenn. for matchups against Bethel University (Tenn.). The men's squad started the day by defeating the Wildcats by a final score of 4-1, while the women's team could not get past them, falling by a final score of 4-1.

The Buffaloes' men started the day by earning the doubles point, with
Michal Curlej and
Thiago Petry taking a 6-2 win in the No. 1 matchup, before
Brayden Kennedy and Thomas Tenil teamed up for a 6-4 win in the No. 2 battle.
The singles competition began with Curlej winning the first set 6-3, followed by a 6-2 victory in the second set to earn the match win.
Thiago Petry also picked up a two-set victory by a dominating 6-2, 6-1 final. Kennedy battled in the No. 6 slot but dropped the match in two sets. Mercader secured the game-winning point with a 6-3, 6-4 victory, while Lafarga and Schollhorn's matches were not completed as Mercader's victory had already clinched the win for Milligan.
The Lady Buffs dropped the doubles point to Bethel, with the Buffs winning only the No. 2 contest by a final of 6-3, as
Madison Berry and
Parker White took that win.
In the No. 2 singles matchup,
Melissa Duarte fell 6-0, 6-0 for the Buffs. White was the lone winner for Milligan in singles, as she compiled a 6-4, 6-1 win in the fifth singles match. Berry was edged out 7-6 (8-6) in a competitive first set tiebreak in the No. 4 slot and dropped the second set 6-3.
Laurel Rich was the final singles competitor of the day for Milligan, and she dropped back-to-back sets, 6-1 and 6-0. With the match clinched,
Tara Stewart and
Lee Anne Endler were not required to finish their matches.
On Saturday, the two squads will be back on the court in Pulaski, as they will face the UT Southern squads at 11 a.m.
