lHILTON HEAD, S.C. –Milligan University's men's and women's tennis programs were in action against the Georgetown College Tigers on Wednesday as a part of the PTR Spring Tennis Fest. The Lady Buffs dismantled the Tigers in the opening game 7-0, and the (RV) men's squad battled in numerous tightly contested sets but ultimately fell 4-3.

The Lady Buffs started the day by capturing the doubles point in two games against the Tigers, with the Buffs clinching the point with wins in the No. 1 and No. 2 contests.Â
Lee Anne Endler and
Tara Stewart won the No. 1 matchup in convincing fashion, 6-1. While
Laurel Rich and
Parker White swept the No. 2 matchup 6-0 to secure the point.
The singles competition began with Endler winning the first set 6-4, followed by a 6-4 victory in the second set to earn the match win.Â
Melissa Duarte played in the most competitive match of the afternoon on the women's side, as it took three sets (7-5, 7-6, 10-4) for eventual victory in the No. 2 matchup. White was in the No. 3 slot winning 6-1, 6-1, and Stewart was next in No. 4 with a clean 6-0, 6-0 sweep.
Madison Berry and Rich completed 7-0 sweeps in the No. 5 and No. 6 matchups, as Berry won 6-0, 6-1 and Rich capped it off with a 6-0, 6-0 win.

The Buffaloes' men dropped the doubles point after three competitive matches, with
Tomas Tenil and
Brayden Kennedy picking up the lone victory in the No. 2 matchup 6-3.
Michal Curlej and
Thiago Petry put together a valiant effort in the No. 1 match, falling 7-6. In the No. 3 matchup, Milligan dropped the point when
Brandon Latta and
Bryant Morales were defeated 6-4.
The singles competition for the men began with Curlej winning the first set 6-2, followed by losses in set two (6-2) and set three (7-6) to drop the point.Â
Phil Schollhorn secured an impressive 3-set tiebreaker victory with the scores of 1-6, 6-4, 19-17 final. Tenil faced off in the No. 3 slot falling 7-5, 6-4.
Enzo Bardin took home the No. 4 matchup with a 6-3, 6-3 result, while Kennedy lost in consecutive sets 6-3, 6-3 to concede the point in the No. 5 matchup, which secured the win for Georgetown. However,
Martin Mercarder finished the day for the Buffs on a high note with a convincing 6-0, 6-0 win in the No. 6 matchup.
The two squads' next matchup will be back on their home court on March 21, as they face off against Appalachian Athletic Conference opponent Columbia College (S.C.).
