COLUMBIA, S.C. – Milligan's men's and women's tennis teams traveled to Columbia, S.C. for matchups with the Columbia College Koalas. The Buffaloes had no issue with the hosts, as the men defeated the Koalas 7-0 and the women secured a 5-2 victory on Saturday afternoon.

The Buffaloes' men secured the doubles point on Saturday, with
Gonzaga Lafarga and
Phil Schollhorn taking a 6-4 win in the No. 1 matchup.
Brayden Kennedy and
Tomas Tenil clinched the doubles point with a 6-1 victory in the No. 2 battle.
Michal Curlej and
Bryant Morales also won their No. 3 bout in two sets.
The singles competition began with Curlej winning both sets 6-0, 6-0 in dominant fashion to earn the match win. Lafarga secured a straight-set victory with scores of 6-4, 6-2. Schollhorn won in straight sets 6-3, 6-2, while Mercarder claimed his match 6-2, 6-1. Tenil won 6-1, 6-1 to push the Buffs to 6-0, and Kennedy closed out the sweep with a three-set victory, 7-6, 4-2, 6-0.
The Lady Buffs captured the doubles point against the Koalas, with Berry and Duarte winning the No. 1 matchup in convincing fashion, 6-1. Rich and Stewart clinched the doubles point with a 6-2 win in the No. 2 battle. White and Wimmer also won their No. 3 contest 6-2.
In the No. 1 singles matchup, Duarte rallied back after dropping the first set to win 3-6, 6-0, 6-1. Stewart dominated in the No. 2 dual, taking straight sets 6-1, 6-1. White had an impressive showing in the No. 3 matchup as she came away with a 6-3, 6-4 win. Berry held strong against the Koalas in the No. 4 dual, taking the straight sets 6-0, 6-1. Rich fell in straight sets 2-6, 2-6 in the No. 5 matchup, and
Shawna Arnold also fell in two sets, 3-6, 5-7, in the No. 6 dual.
The two squads' next matchup will be back on their home court on Tuesday, March 24, as they face off with Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) University.
