MILLIGAN, Tenn. – Milligan's women's tennis team hosted Brenau (Ga.) for Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) play at the Mathes Tennis courts. Milligan's squad lost the doubles point and fell 5-1 in the singles for an overall defeat of 6-1 on the afternoon.

The Buffaloes' women dropped the doubles point, as
Lee Anne Endler and
Melissa Duarte lost 6-4 in the No. 1 matchup.
Madison Berry and
Parker White won the No. 2 match 6-4, but
Laurel Rich and
Tara Stewart dropped the No. 3 bout to concede the point.
In the singles matches, Milligan had some competitive contests and picked up a victory in the No. 4 matchup but overall were outmatched in the contest. Endler fell in the No. 1 matchup 6-2, 6-4. Duarte dropped the No. 2 matchup by a score of 6-2, 6-3. Stewart won the first set in the No. 3 matchup 6-3 but lost the second set 6-4 and the third set 6-0. White had the lone victory in singles on the afternoon in the No. 4 match, winning in straight sets 6-2, 6-0. Berry had a tight contest in the No. 5 matchup, as she lost the first set 6-3 and lost the second set in an eight-point tiebreaker. In the No. 6 match,
Laurel Rich was narrowly edged out in two sets, as she fell 6-4, 7-5.
The Milligan women (2-4, 1-2 AAC) will now head to the PTR Tennis Fest in Hilton Head, S.C. They will first match up with West Liberty (W.Va.) on Sunday, March 8 at 8:30 a.m.
