HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – On Sunday morning, the Milligan University women's tennis squad began their spring break trip to the PTR Tennis Fest in Hilton Head Island, S.C. with a matchup against the NCAA Division II West Liberty University (W.Va.). The Buffaloes pulled off a 5-2 win to begin their three-match trip.

The doubles point went the way of the Buffaloes, as they swept the competition. The No.1 pairing of Madison Berry and Tara Stewart took a 6-4 win, followed by another 6-4 win in the No. 2 match by Parker White and Lauren Wimmer. Lastly, Melissa Duarte and Laurel Rich won 6-3 in the final doubles tilt.

The Buffaloes earned victories from their No. 3-No. 6 singles matches, as Stewart began things with a 6-2, 6-2 win. White then won 6-2, 6-0 to give MU another point. Madison Berry snatched the No. 5 matchup with a perfect 6-0, 6-0 tally, while Rich handled her opponent with a final score of 6-2, 6-1.

Milligan (3-4, 1-2 AAC) will now be set to play Lawrence Tech (Mich.), another NAIA institution, on Monday, March 9 at 8:30 a.m.
