KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Day two for the Milligan University outdoor track & field squads at the Tennessee Invite in Knoxville concluded with a pair of school records and nine new personal-best times being set by the Buffaloes.
Luis Peralta ran a blazing 1:48.83 in the men's 800m to win the event and become the new Milligan record holder in the event. He holds the top NAIA time of the season to this point.
The second MU record set on Saturday came from the men's 4x400m Relay team, consisting of
Kaleb Spears,
Brayden Simpson,
Carter Windham and Peralta. They raced to a time of 3:15.33 to finish eighth in the race and set the No. 11 time in the NAIA this season.
Trevor Sinard placed in the top 10 in 10th place with a Hammer Throw toss of 50.94m.
Both
Aleah Soderman (15.54) and
Jade Mansogo (15.60) came away with personal-best marks in the women's 100m Hurdles.
Simpson came away with a season-best time of 14.62 seconds in the men's 110m Hurdles.
A trio of Milligan PBs were set in the women's 800m, as
McKenzie Fitzgerald (2:15.97, NAIA No. 18),
Kaylee Coll (2:17.37, NAIA No. 22) and
Gabriella Hoover (2:21.29) all improved their career marks.
Marti Molins Rallo also ran alongside Peralta in the men's 800m. He unfurled a 1:50.71 in the race to place sixth and earn a personal-best mark that now stands as the No. 5 time in the NAIA.
Spears finished his day with a PB in the men's 100m Dash, while
Zion Reddick concluded the list of personal-best finishers with his performance in the Shot Put.
The teams will now have just over a week-and-a-half to get themselves prepared for the 2026 Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Championships in Black Mountain, N.C. on April 23-25. The men are looking for their third straight conference championship and the women are in search of their first since 2014.
