ROCK HILL, S.C. - Over the course of the past several days, the Milligan University disc golf program has made history, notching men's and women's Division I championship titles for the first time in program history.
After posting their first ever national title at the Division III level in 2025, both the Men's 'A' team and the women's team took home Milligan's second and third ever national titles.
Taking home the hardware for the men in a Division I competition including 48 total teams was
Benjamin Wagner,
Ethan Bishop,
James Blocker and
Zac Nelson. They shot a combined 27 under par and 10 under in the final round to clinch the national title.
Coming down to the wire, the women's tourney was won by
Grace Sanderson and
Ari Timm on an identical 27-under-par score across the four rounds of play. A birdie putt from distance by Timm on the final hole clinched the 10-under-par round to earn them the title.
The Milligan 'B' team's battle in the Division II competition earned them a tie for ninth place out of a field of 48 squads.
Jett Carter,
Max Kitchings,
Ethan Reab and
John Bernard teamed up to shoot six strokes under par, which was nine shots away from the eventual champs.
Both Milligan's 'C' and 'D' teams were involved in the Division III tourney.
Harrison Greene,
Owen Gibson,
Aaron Walker and
Chris Berney made up the 'C' squad, which finished tied for 12th. They ended up 25 under par, just ten strokes off the lead.
The 'D' group, including
Michael Nickens,
Sean Pagenkopf,
Isaiah Crawford and
Christopher Hernandez, tied for 36th with a 17-under-par tally.
It was a stellar performance from the Buffaloes to sweep the Division I championships, earning national titles at the top level for the first time in program history.
