MILLIGAN, Tenn. – On Monday, head tennis coach Bart Kennedy announced the Milligan University men's and women's tennis schedules for 2026-27. The schedule includes four fall tournaments for the men and three for the women, along with two matchups against NCAA Division II opposition for each squad, before the spring schedule begins in late February.

"All In! That's our theme this year," said Kennedy. "We have a very strong schedule with some of the NAIA's elite teams on it. Both teams look to make the push to being nationally ranked. We have a very motivated group of seniors and players who want to finish strong like we know we are capable of."

Milligan begins their fall season with the men heading east to Banner Elk, N.C. for the Lees-McRae College Tournament on Sept. 11-13. Then, both teams head to the ITA NAIA Southeast Regional Championships in Owensboro, Ky. for the singles and doubles events Sept. 24-28. Several days later, the two squads will trek to Pulaski, Tenn., where they will take part in the Farm and Forge Tournament, hosted by University of Tennessee-Southern on Oct. 2-3. Head-to-head matchups at Emory & Henry (Va.) (Oct. 15, 2 p.m.) and versus Lees-McRae (Oct. 24, 3 p.m.) set the stage for the final event of the fall. From Oct. 30-Nov. 1, the Buffaloes will send both their outfits to the UTR National Singles Championships in Rome, Ga. to round out the 2026 portion of their schedules.

Milligan opens the spring with an Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) tilt against Truett McConnell on Feb. 24 at 2 p.m., before hitting the road for the Grizzly Spring Break Invitational, presented by Georgia Gwinnett College in Lawrenceville, Ga. The Milligan men will play Dillard (La.) (Feb. 26, 9 a.m.), UT Southern (Feb. 26, 6 p.m.), The Citadel (S.C.) (Feb. 27, 6 p.m.) and Georgia Gwinnett (Feb. 28, 9 a.m.). The women will battle Dillard at the same time as the men, but will not play UT Southern until Feb. 27 at 6 p.m., and will conclude their event against Georgia Gwinnett along with the men.
The two teams will have neutral-site matchups with Marian (Ind.) on March 2, playing at 3 p.m. at Sevierville City Park in Sevierville, Tenn.

Next, the Buffs play conference opponent and national powerhouse Tennessee Wesleyan in Athens at 2 p.m. on March 4, representing Milligan's second conference tilts. That match precedes the PTR Spring Tennis Fest in Hilton Head Island, S.C., which will be played March 8-12, with opponents yet to be decided.

Milligan will host the Columbia College Koalas on March 18 at 2 p.m. for another conference tilt at Mathes Tennis Center, before just the men host Montreat two days later at 2 p.m.

Each team will then head to Henderson, Tenn., the home of Freed-Hardeman University for a pair of matches. The Buffs will match up with Bethel (Tenn.) on March 26 at 4 p.m., prior to playing the hosting Lions at 11 a.m. on March 27.

Both the Milligan men and women head to Pikeville, Ky. on March 30 for conference bouts with UPIKE at 2 p.m., while the women go on one final road trip before the home finale, heading to Brenau in Gainesville, Ga. on April 2 at 3 p.m. The final match of the regular season for the two MU squads is against Johnson at Mathes Tennis Center at 2 p.m. on April 6.

The AAC Tournament will take place in Chattanooga at the Champions Club Tennis Complex from April 15-17. The top eight teams in the regular season standings earn a bid to the conference tourney.
