Lady Buffs down Lady Eagles

Milligan College, Tenn. (Oct. 12, 2009) --- The Milligan College volleyball team defeated newly added AAC member Reinhardt College (Ga.) Monday night in Steve Lacy Fieldhouse. The Lady Buffs knocked off the Lady Eagles in three straight sets (25-16, 25-12, 25-21).

Leading the Lady Buffs offensive charge was junior Bianca Burnett (Cookeville, Tenn.) with 11 kills in the contest, while former Lady Viking Kalyn Perrigan (Bristol, Tenn.) pitched in nine kills from the outside. Freshman standout Chelsea Spivey (Gate City, Va.), back in her usual roll as setter, recorded a game high 29 assists during the match. Freshman Holly English (Kingsport, Tenn.) had a team high 15 digs for the Lady Buffs.   

“We are excited to get another conference win under our belt,” commented Head Coach Doneva Bays. “After a tough weekend, it's good to see them come out focused and ready to play.” 

With the win the Lady Buffs improve to 11-11 overall and 5-3 in league play. The Lady Eagles fall to 6-14 and 5-5 in the AAC.  

Milligan travels to Athens, Tenn., Tuesday, Oct. 13, for an AAC matchup against Tennessee Wesleyan College. The Lady Buffs and Lady Bulldogs face off at 6:30 p.m.
