Milligan College, Tenn. (Oct. 15, 2009) --- The Milligan College volleyball team won their third straight AAC contest with Thursday's win over Bluefield College (Va.). The Lady Buffs knocked off the Lady Rams 3-0 (25-15, 25-17, 25-22).

Senior Meredith Lynch (Lexington, Ky.) and junior Erin Biddle (Newport, Tenn.) led the squad in assists with 18 and 16, respectively, as starting setter Chelsea Spivey (Gate City, Va.) was out with an illness. Lynch also pitched in 16 digs and eight kills in her double-double performance. Libero Morgan Rutledge (Kingsport, Tenn.) led the Lady Buffs defensively with 22 digs, while junior Emilee Hale (Morristown, Tenn.) played tough in the middle with three solo blocks and two block assists.

“I'm pleased we finished the week 3-0,” commented Head Coach Doneva Bays. “It is nice to see everyone pull together and play hard, especially with us battling sickness and injury.”

The Lady Buffs advance to 13-11 on the season and 7-3 in the league, while the Lady Rams fall to 5-17 overall and 4-6 in the AAC.

The Lady Buffs travel to UVA-Wise (Va.) on Tuesday, Oct. 20, at 6:30 p.m., for their next AAC contest.
