Athens, Tenn. (Oct. 13, 2009) --- The  Milligan College volleyball team secured an AAC victory on the road Tuesday  night at Tennessee Wesleyan. The Lady Buffs won in three straight sets over the  Lady Bulldogs (26-24, 25-9, 25-10).
Freshman  standout Chelsea Spivey (Gate City, Va.) pitched in from  everywhere for the Lady Buffs tallying 24 assists, seven kills and five digs.  Junior Bianca Burnett (Cookeville, Tenn.) led the Lady Buffs  offensively with nine kills, while sophomore libero Morgan Rutledge  (Kingsport, Tenn.) led the squad in digs with 17 during the match. As a  team, the Lady Buffs recorded 10 blocks in the three sets.
“I am thrilled  we walked away with another AAC victory in three (sets) tonight,” commented Head  Coach Doneva Bays. “It was a great team effort, everyone played  hard and focused. Hopefully we can continue to play with the confidence and  consistency we are right now.”    
With the win, the Lady Buffs improve  to 12-11 overall and 6-3 in the AAC.
The Lady Buffs host AAC member  Bluefield College (Va.) Thursday, Oct. 15, in Steve Lacy Fieldhouse. Action  begins at 6:30 p.m.
