Milligan College, Tenn. (Nov. 16, 2009) --- The Milligan College women's basketball team rallied in the second half in a game against Fairmont State University to win decisively 74-56 on Monday night.
After trailing by 15 points at the end of the first half (33-18), the Lady Buffs outscored the Lady Falcons by 33 points to notch their fifth win of the year. Milligan had 17 turnovers in the first half, but took much better care of the ball in the second giving up possession only twice.
Junior Heather Mandela (Fairfax, Va.) led the Lady Buffs, scoring 27 points and 12 rebounds, including an impressive 7-for-11 shooting performance in the second half.
Brittany Kilgore (Kingsport, Tenn.) and Dorian Freeman (Augusta, Ga.) also played well for Milligan, scoring 10 and eight points, respectively.
With the win, the Lady Buffs improve to 5-3 on the year.
Milligan returns home for their AAC opener against the Lady Cavs of Montreat College Wednesday, Nov. 18, at 5:30 p.m.
