Milligan falls to Mars Hill at home

Milligan College, Tenn. (Nov. 24, 2009) --- The Milligan College men's basketball team fell to Mars Hill in Steve Lacy Fieldhouse Tuesday night with a final score of 98-59.

The contest was back-and-forth in the first half until Mars Hill went on a 10-0 scoring run that put them ahead 29-15, and led them to a 46- 30 half time lead. The Buffs struggled offensively shooting just 35 percent from the floor compared to Mars Hill's 54 percent.

On a 5-of-9 shooting night from the floor, junior Torian Sitton (Hendersonville, N.C.) led the Buffs with 14 points, nine rebounds, and two steals. Freshman Justin Sylvester (Kingsport, Tenn.) was next in line with 13 points, 3 steals and one assists. Newcomer Cordero Seymour (Inagua, Bahamas) rounded out the top Buff scorers managing 10 points, two blocks and two steals on the night.

The Buffs fall to 1-6 for the season with the loss, while Mars Hill becomes 2-2 for the season.

Milligan returns to action, Nov. 30, on the road in a non-conference match up against NCAA Winston Salem State University. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
