Milligan College, Tenn. (Nov. 3, 2009) --- The Milligan College women's basketball team knocked off Berea College (Ky.) for their second win of the season Tuesday night at home. The Lady Buffs (2-0) beat the Lady Mountaineers (0-1) by a final of 78-73.ÂÂ
The Lady Buffs came out firing as they were 14-of-23 from the field and 4-of-7 from beyond the arc. At the break, Milligan led Berea 42-36.
During the second half, the Lady Buffs maintained their lead but were tested of several occasions by the Lady Mountaineers. Milligan cooled a bit from 3-point range, but a solid 50 percent from the field was enough to fend off Berea and cruise to their second win of the season.

Heather Mandela (Fairfax, Va.) recorded her first double-double of the year with 25 points and 12 rebounds, nine of which came on the defensive end. Last season, Mandela led the nation in defensive rebounds with 9.094. ÂÂ
Sophomore

Brit White (Chuckey, Tenn.) was perfect from the beyond the arc and the charity stripe to pitch in eight points. ÂÂ
“It was another good game early in the season,” commented Head Coach
Rich Aubrey. “We had to work hard for the win tonight and keep making adjustments down the stretch. We need to keep moving forward and improving every day.”ÂÂ
