Rome, Ga. (Nov. 7, 2009) --- The Milligan College women's basketball team lost to the host school, Shorter College, in the final day of the Shorter Classic Saturday by a final of 74-40.  

The Lady Buffs (3-0) were led offensively by sophomore Alisha Mainer (Flag Pond, Tenn.) who recorded nine points and grabbed four rebounds. Junior center Heather Mandela (Fairfax, Va.) led the Lady Buffs in rebounds with eight.  

“We struggled to knock down our shots tonight which hurt us,” commented Head Coach Rich Aubrey. “Shorter played hard tonight and gave us a test early in the season which is something we hope to learn from.  

The Lady Buffs shot just 10-of-48 from the field against the Lady Hawks.  

Milligan returns home to host NCAA Division II Lees-McRae Tuesday, Nov. 10, at 7 p.m.
