Milligan College, Tenn. (Sept. 5, 2009) --- The Milligan College women's soccer team hosted NCAA Division III Roanoke College Saturday afternoon at Anglin Field. The Lady Buffs fell to the Lady Maroons 2-0. ÂÂ
The game remained even for the entire first half as both teams were unable to find the back of the net. Freshman keeper
Heather Crumplen (Courtice, Ontario) helped the Buffs stay in the game recording four saves on the Lady Maroons' 11 shots.
During the second half, the game remained at a stalemate until Roanoke's Rebekah Adams knocked in a shot nearing the 55th minute to give the Lady Maroons a 1-0 lead. Roanoke did not stop there as they continued to battle and score again, compliments of goal from Lady Maroon Stephanie Parenteau as time wound down.
“We came out flat which really hurt us,” commented Head Coach
Lisa Buckley. “We did not gain any momentum during the game and we basically just lost a physical battle against a very physical team.”
The Lady Buffs travel to take on the Lady Patriots of the University of the Cumberlands (
Williamsburg, Ky.) on Wednesday, Sept. 8. The game is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.  ÂÂ
