Georgetown, Ky. (Oct. 14, 2010) --- The Milligan College Lady Buffs soccer team picked up a nonconference victory on Thursday night as they defeated Georgetown College 2-0 in Georgetown, Ky.
FreshmanÂÂ
Hannah Kellogg (Louisville, KY) scored both goals for the Lady Buffs in the contest. Kellogg put a header into the net off ofÂÂ
Samantha Barton's (Marietta, GA) corner kick in the 24th minute. In the second half, Kellogg struck again as she ran past the Lady Tiger goalie to score another goal in the 54th minute.
Defensively,ÂÂ
Heather Crumplen (Courtice, Ontario) recorded 15 saves.
With the win, Milligan improves to 7-4-2 overall and remain 4-0 in AAC play.
“We came out slow in the first half, but we played better and more organized in the second,” Head Coach
Lisa Buckley said. “It was great to haveÂÂ
Jacklyn Orange (Bagdad, KY) back, and that gives us an extra option going forward. Hannah did a great job, and was definitely a difference maker tonight.”
Milligan returns to action on Tuesday, Oct. 19, when they travel to Bristol, Tenn., to face former AAC foe King College. Game time is set for 2 p.m.
