Dayton, Tenn. (Oct. 23, 2010) --- The Milligan College Lady Buffs soccer team remained undefeated in AAC play by defeating Bryan College 2-0 on Friday in a crucial road conference matchup.
The Lady Buffs struck first with the only goal of the first half on a kick from
Gretchen Allie (Charlotte, N.C.) in the 13th minute.
Milligan struck again early in the second half with an unassisted goal by
Kelsey Kind (Johnson City, Tenn.) in the 49th minute, putting the Lady Buffs up 2-0.
Defensively,
Heather Crumplen (Courtice, Ontario) recorded seven saves in the shutout.
It was a great performance,” head coach
Lisa Buckley said. “We did an excellent job of possessing the ball, which is something we've been missing in a few games. We're playing our best soccer of the year.”
With the victory, the Lady Buffs improve to 8-5-2 overall and 5-0 in conference play.
The Lady Buffs will play their final game of the regular season against conference opponent Tennessee Wesleyan on Saturday, Oct. 30, in Athens, Tenn. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
