Milligan comes up short in OT

Bristol, Tenn. (Oct. 19, 2010) --- The Milligan College Lady Buffs soccer team came short in overtime on Tuesday afternoon as they fell 1-0 to former AAC foe King College at Parks Field in Bristol, Tenn.

Neither team was unable to break onto the scoreboard in regulation. The Lady Tornado ended the game when Maggie Lynskey scored in the 93rd minute.

Defensively, AAC Defensive Player of the Week Heather Crumplen (Courtice, Ontario) recorded 18 saves for the Lady Buffs.

“It's disappointing anytime you lose, especially when you lose in overtime to one of your biggest rivals,” Head Coach Lisa Buckley said. “We didn't play like we were playing a rival today. You can't play these local games and win them unless you play like you are playing a rival. We have been plagued with injuries this year, and we are starting to get some of people back. We need to try and finish the season strong by getting two wins and do what I know we are capable of doing. ”

With the loss, Milligan falls to 7-5-2 and remains 4-0 in AAC action.

Milligan returns to conference play on Saturday, Oct. 23, when they travel to Bryan College in Dayton, Tenn. Game time is set for 4:30 p.m.
