Milligan College, Tenn. (Oct. 5, 2010) --- The Milligan College women's soccer team remained undefeated in AAC action as they defeated Montreat College 2-0 on Tuesday afternoon at Anglin Field.
Lauren Lameier (Woodstock, GA) gave Milligan a 1-0 lead in the 17th minute of the match.
Samantha Barton (Marietta, GA) added to that total in the second half with her goal in the 51st minute.
Defensively,
Heather Crumplen (Courtice, Ontario)recorded two saves. In all, Milligan outshot the Lady Cavaliers 27-7
" It's a win, but it was another poor performance from us," Head Coach
Lisa Buckley said. "We were real streaky. In the first half, I thought we played well and we did the right things. They are a difficult team to play against because they work so hard. It's nice to get another conference win and be 4-0 in conference, and it is nice to have a break between conference games. That way we can get some players healthy and get some rest, and then bring it for the last two conference games."
With the win, Milligan improves to 6-3-2 overall and 4-0 in AAC action.
The Lady Buffs return to action on Thursday, Oct. 7, when they travel to Gainesville, Ga., for a nonconference game with Brenau University. Game time is set for 6 p.m.
