Boca Raton, Fla. (Dec. 30, 2010) --- The Milligan College women's basketball team came up short on the second day of the Courtyard by Marriott Holiday Classic in Boca Raton, Fla., on Thursday afternoon as they fell 78-44 to host Lynn University.

The Lady Buffs were unable to overcome a fast start by Lynn as they trailed 42-13 at the break. Despite the score, Milligan kept fighting in the second half, but was unable to erase the deficit.

The Lady Buffs were led by a pair of double-digit performances from Alisha Mainer (Flag Pond, Tenn.) and Heather Mandela (Fairfax, Va.). Mainer recorded 14 points and 11 rebounds, while Mandela added 12 points and 10 rebounds.

With the loss, Milligan drops to 11-5 on the year.

The Lady Buffs return to action on Monday, Jan. 3, when they travel to Alice Lloyd College. Tipoff is slated for 2 p.m.
