Pippa Passes, Ky. (Jan. 3, 2011) --- The Milligan College women's basketball team fell short in their first game of the new year as they fell 65-58 to nonconference foe Alice Lloyd College on Monday in Pippa Passes, Ky.

The Lady Buffs and Lady Eagles stayed in a tight battle throughout the first half as Alice Lloyd led 33-30 at the break. Milligan continued to fight in the second half, but was unable to pull in front of the Lady Eagles.

Heather Mandela (Fairfax, Va.) led the Lady Buffs with 14 points. Former Science Hill standout Johnesia Good (Johnson City, Tenn.) had 12 points in the game.

With the loss, the Lady Buffs fall to 11-6 overall.

Milligan opens AAC action on Wednesday, Jan. 5, when they welcome Tennessee Wesleyan College into Steve Lacy Fieldhouse. Tipoff is slated for 5:30 p.m.
