No. 21 Milligan basketball blasts Harris-Stowe

Barbourville, Ky. (Dec. 4, 2010) --- The No. 21 Milligan College women's basketball team won their seventh game in a row on Saturday as they defeated Harris-Stowe State University 114-68 on the second day of the Lady Bulldog Classic hosted by Union College in Barbourville, Ky.

The Lady Buffs opened the game up on a 19-2 run in the first five minutes, and never looked back as they raced to a 61-23 halftime lead. Milligan continued to control the game in the second half as Harris-Stowe was unable to answer the Milligan pressure.

Freshman Brooke White (Chuckey, Tenn.) led the way with 12 points and four assists. Dakota White (Baileyton, Tenn.) and Kayla Kelly (Chattanooga, Tenn.) added 11 points apiece, while Dorian Freeman (Augusta, Ga.), Heather Mandela (Fairfax, Va.) and Jasmine Jefferson (Elizabethton, Tenn.) all scored 10 points apiece. Milligan saw all 15 players score in the contest.

Milligan moves to 10-3 on the year with the victory.

The Lady Buffs return to action on Saturday, Dec. 11, when they travel to Tigerville, S.C., for a nonconference game with North Greeneville University. Tipoff is slated for 2 p.m.
