Lookout Mountain, Ga. (March, 20, 2010) --- The Milligan College baseball team won a double header on the road against NCAA D-III Covenant College by winning the first game 10-0 in six innings and taking the nightcap 3-1.
Colin Duffie (Calhoun, Ga.) got the nod for the Buffs pitching six strong innings, scattering five hits, allowing zero runs, striking out five, and only walking two batters on his way to the victory.
At the plate, the Buffs were led by Eric Oxley (Ardmore, Tenn.) going 1-for-2 with two RBIs. Also providing some offense was Rickey Morgan (Johnson City, Tenn.), who went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run.
In the nightcap Shawn Ray (York, S.C.) got the start for the Buffs pitching six innings, scattering three hits and striking out three batters on his way to earning the win. Jason Trivett (Bristol, Tenn.) came in and recorded the save in the 7th inning.
Providing some offense was Brett Maddox (Lake Butler, Fla.) who went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs including a homerun. Kendal Williams (Dillon, S.C.) also chimed in with an RBI.
With the wins the Buffs improve to 14-8 on the year.
Next game for the Buffs will be on Monday, March 22, as they will take on Emory and Henry College in Emory, Va. First pitch is set for 2 p.m.
