No. 25 Milligan defeated in extra innings

Milligan College, Tenn. (March 30, 2010) --- The 25th ranked Milligan baseball squad fell to former AAC foe King College 5-2 in a non-conference contest on Tuesday afternoon on Anglin Field.

The Buffs led 2-1 in the top of the seventh before the Tornado tied the game in the eighth. The ninth inning saw both teams unable to cross the plate, and forced the game into extra innings. The 10th inning saw three Tornado cross the plate giving them the lead and ultimately the decision.

Adam Lawrimore (Johnsonville, S.C.) received the loss in the effort. Lawrimore pitched two innings and gave up two hits and three earned runs.

Offensively, Eric Oxley (Ardmore, Tenn.) and Dustin Ford (Jonesborough, Tenn.) were 2-for-5 from the plate, while Kendall Williams (Dillon, S.C.) was 2-for-4.

With the loss, Milligan fell to 19-9 overall and remains at 10-2 in the league.

Milligan hosts NCAA Division II's Brevard College Tornados for a doubleheader on Wednesday with the first pitch slated for 5 p.m.
