Milligan College, Tenn. (April 10, 2010) --- The Milligan  College softball program put their seven game win streak on the line, and they  split the doubleheader against AAC foe UVA-Wise on Saturday afternoon at Anglin  Field, as they lost the first game 2-1, and won the second game 2-1. 
In  the first game, Sidney Burns (Tallahassee, Fla.) got the  starting nod for the Lady Buffs as she went the distance pitching all seven  innings, allowing eight hits, one earned run while striking out ten batters on  her way to the loss. Burns is now 11-6 on the season. 
At the plate for  the Lady Buffs, Jessica Fix (Chesapeake, Va.) led the way going  2-for-2, and Melanie Strickler (Kingsport, Tenn.) knocked in  the lone RBI in her first game back from injury.  
In the second game,  Ryann Musick (Elizabethton, Tenn.) was called on to start for  the Lady Buffs. Musick also went the distance, pitching all seven innings, only  allowing three hits, one run, while striking out eight batters on her way to the  win. Musick now stands at 9-3 on the year.
In the nightcap, on the  offensive end, the Lady Buffs were led by Burns who went 1-for-2 from the plate  with an RBI. Also knocking in the game-winning run was Morgan Holbrook  (Knoxville, Tenn.) who was 1-for-4 on the game.
With the split,  the Lady Buffs move to 9-5 in AAC action and 21-10 overall, while the Lady Cavs  shift to 2-8 in league action and 7-21 overall.
Milligan returns to action on Tuesday, April 13th when they travel  to Athens, Tenn. for an AAC doubleheader against Tennessee Wesleyan. The first  pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m.
