Athens, Tenn. (April 13, 2010) --- The Milligan College  softball team traveled to Athens, Tenn. to play the Tennessee Wesleyan Lady  Bulldogs in an AAC doubleheader winning of one two games. They won the first  game 1-0 in eighth inning and lost the second game 5-2.
In the middle of  the pitcher's circle was Junior Lady Buff Sidney Burns (Tallahassee,  Fla.) who threw the complete game shutout. Burns only allowed two hits  and struck out seven batters on her way to the victory.
At the plate, the  Lady Buffs were led by Abby Hughes (Rogersville, Tenn.) who  went 2-for-3, while fellow freshmen Emily Biggs (Kingsport,  Tenn.) and Camille Olvey (Maryville, Tenn.) both went  1-for-3 from the plate, with Olvey tallying the lone RBI for the game.
In  the nightcap, Junior Ryann Musick (Elizabethton, Tenn.)  received the starting nod for the Lady Buffs. Musick threw three and two-thirds  innings surrendering four hits, five runs (one earned), and striking out seven  batters on her way to loss. Rachel Ingleby (Knoxville, Tenn.)  came in and finished the game pitching two and one-third innings and striking  out one batter.
On the offensive end the Lady Buffs were led by  Megan Heaton (Elizabethton, Tenn.) who went 1-for-3 from the  plate with an RBI. Also chiming in was Alicia Engle (Erwin,  Tenn.) who went 1-for-2 with RBI.
With the split the Lady Buffs  move to 22-11 overall and 10-6 in AAC conference play. 
The Lady Buffs will be in action again on Wednesday, April 14 as  they travel to Tusculum College to play a doubleheader. First pitch is set for 5  p.m.
