Bluefield, Va. (May 1, 2010) --- The Milligan College baseball team split a pair in their AAC regular season finale series Saturday afternoon against Bluefield (Va.) College as the Buffs lost the opener 8-6 but bounced back to take Game 2 by the final of 11-4. ÂÂ
Senior
Aaron Dorriety (Pickens, S.C.) was credited with the loss in five innings of work during the opener. Dorriety scattered seven hits and yielded six runs, five of which were earned. For the season, Dorriety falls to 6-2. ÂÂ
At the plate, sophomore
Dustin Ford (Jonesborough, Tenn.) led the way going 3-for-4 with two RBIs, while senior
Kendall Williams (Dillon, S.C.) was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored. ÂÂ
Earning the win for the Buffs in Game 2 was senior
Shawn Ray (York, S.C.) in five plus innings. Ray gave up just one earned run on four hits, and recorded two strikeouts. For the year, Ray improves to 7-3. ÂÂ
Offensively, freshman
Brett Maddox (Lake Butler, Fla.) had a monster day at the plate going a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBIs and a run scored. Ford capped his day with a 2-for-4 performance with two runs scored, while senior
Randy Rabon (York, S.C.) was also 2-for-4 with a run and a RBI. ÂÂ
For the season, the Buffs move to 29-18 overall and 17-9 in the league.
Milligan concludes their AAC regular season tomorrow with a single 9-inning game slated for a 2 p.m., start against the Rams.    ÂÂ
