Lady Buffs earn AAC honors for second week

Milligan College, Tenn. (Sept. 14, 2010) --- For the second straight week, the Milligan College volleyball team saw Kendra Fiddler (Colorado Springs, Colo.) named as the AAC Player of the Week and Chelsea Spivey (Gate City, Va.) named AAC Setter of the week. The awards were announced by the conference office.

“I'm thrilled that Chelsea and Kendra received these awards for the second straight week,” Head Coach Doneva Bays said. “It's a great reflection of our team.”

Fiddler was an instrumental part in the Lady Buffs going 3-2 for the week, including a road conference win at Bluefield College. For the week, she had 50 kills. Fiddler also had 14 solo blocks and assisted on nine blocks, and was also named to the Rumpke Invitational All-Tournament team.

Spivey also played a key role in Milligan's success. She had 155 assists over the course of the five matches. Spivey also recorded four assisted blocks.

Milligan is currently 9-4 overall and 1-0 in conference. The Lady Buffs return to action on Tuesday afternoon when they travel to Athens, Tenn., for a conference showdown with Tennessee Wesleyan. Game time is set for 6:30 p.m.
