Milligan College, Tenn. (Sept. 15, 2010) --- The Milligan College volleyball team came up short in nonconference action as they fell 3-0 to Carson Newman on Wednesday night inside Steve Lacy Fieldhouse.

The Lady Buffs took the first set to the wire, but was unable to come out on top as they fell 27-25. Milligan kept fighting, but fell 25-19 and 25-20 in the second and third sets, respectively.

“Unfortunately, our tough schedule took its toll,” Head Coach Doneva Bays said. “We played tired and came out slow. Not to take anything away from Carson Newman because they are a great team, but we need to improve and bounce back tomorrow night.”

With the loss, Milligan falls to 10-5 overall and remains 2-0 in AAC play.

The Lady Buffs return to AAC action on Thursday afternoon when they host Virginia Intermont. Game time is set for 6:30 p.m.
