Milligan College, Tenn. (Sept. 4, 2010) --- The Milligan College Lady Buff soccer team hosted NCAA Division-II Lees-McRae College on Saturday night in a nonconference showdown, and fell 2-1 loss to the Lady Bobcats.

Milligan scored its only goal when Rachel Martin (Blountville, TN) put the ball past Bobcat goalie Brittany Bolton in the 72nd minute. The Buffs fell behind early in the first half when Mary Dorn and Vickie Rich scored at minutes fourteen and nineteen, respectively.

Defensively, Heather Crumplen (Courtice, Ontario) recorded 13 saves to keep the game close until the end.

“We came out flat today in the first half,” Head Coach Lisa Buckley said. “I was really proud of the girls in the second and how they battled back and won the second half. Unfortunately, it was not enough.”

With the loss, the Lady Buffs fell to 1-1-1 while Lees-McRae pushed to 1-1.

Milligan returns to action on Friday, Sept. 10, when they travel to Tusculum College for a nonconference battle. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
