Buffaloes volleyball drops nonconference game

 Jefferson City, Tenn. (Oct. 18, 2011) --- The Milligan College volleyball team came up short on Tuesday night as they fell 3-0 to NCAA Division-II Carson-Newman College in Jefferson City, Tenn.
 
   The Buffaloes fought hard in the first game, but dropped the set 25-18. In the match's second set, Milligan fought tough, but was unable to fend off a late Eagle rally as they fell 25-23. In the decisive third set, the Buffaloes were unable to rally as they fell 25-20.
 
   AAC Setter of the week Chelsea Spivey (Gate City, Va.) recorded 27 assists, while AAC Player of the week Kendra Fiddler (Colorado Springs, Colo.) had 10 kills. Senior Morgan Rutledge (Kingsport, Tenn.) had 14 digs and 10 kills. Katelin Henson (Kingsport, Tenn.) had nine digs, and freshman duo Rachel Renville (Broomfield, Colo.) and Erin Pittman (Norris, Tenn.) had five kills apiece.
 
   With the loss, Milligan falls to 8-15 overall.
 
   The Buffaloes return to AAC action on Thursday, Oct. 20, with a trip to Bluefield College. Game time is set for 6:30 p.m.
