Montreat, N.C. (Dec. 3, 2011) --- The Milligan College men's basketball team pulled ahead in the final minute to take a 80-76 victory over AAC foe Montreat College on Saturday night in Montreat, N.C.

  The first half saw the teams trade shots, and neither team was able to pull away as Milligan led 27-24 with 4:30 left in the frame. Montreat closed the gap, and the teams entered the locker room at the half tied at 36.

  In the second half, the teams continued to trade baskets and the lead. Milligan held a 58-56 advantage midway through the half, but Montreat led the contest 66-65 with just under five minutes remaining.

Kyle Grisby (Charlotte, N.C.) put the Buffaloes up 71-70 with 2:40 remaining when he drained a 3-pointer, but Montreat battled back to tie the game.
Tyler DeVault (Kingsport, Tenn.) gave Milligan the lead in the final minute with a layup. After a defensive stop, Grisby capitalized on a pair of free throws to secure the victory.

  Grisby led the way with 20 points. DeVault ended the game with 14 points and six rebounds.
Torian Sitton (Hendersonville, N.C.) had 12 points and five rebounds, while
Cordero Seymour (Inagua, Bahamas) had eight points and four rebounds.

  With the win, the Buffaloes improve to 4-3 overall and 2-0 in AAC action, while Montreat falls to 3-6 overall and moves to 0-1 in conference play.

  Milligan will take the court again in the Tar Heel state as they travel to Concord, N.C., for a game with Barber Scotia College in Concord, N.C. Game time is slated for 7 p.m.ÂÂ
