Milligan College, Tenn. (Feb. 16, 2011) --- The Milligan College softball team dropped two close games on Wednesday afternoon to NCAA D-II Brevard College in Brevard, N.C. The Buffaloes fell 3-2 in extra-innings and 1-0 in the second game.
In the first game,
Sidney Burns (Tallahassee, Fla.) got the nod in the pitching circle, and was handed the loss. Burns gave up six hits in the game.
Krista Lambdin (Knoxville, Tenn.) was 2-for-4 at the plate, while
Camille Olvey (Maryville, Tenn.) was 1-for-4 with two RBIs.
Jessica Fix (Chesapeake, Va.) was 1-for-3 at the plate.
The second game saw freshman
Chancli Connatser (Maryville, Tenn.) get the start, and she held the Tornadoes to two hits.
Fix was 1-for-2 at the plate, and
Ellyn Sapp (Johnson City, Tenn.) was 1-for-1. Freshman
Maleah Wolfenbarger (Knoxville, Tenn.) was 1-for-2.
Milligan falls to 1-5 on the season.
Milligan returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 19, when they host the University of the Cumberlands at Anglin Field. Game time is set for 2 p.m.
