Marietta, Ga. (Feb. 5, 2011) --- The Milligan College baseball team was unable to overcome a six run deficit as they fell 13-3 to Southern Poly State University on Saturday afternoon in Atlanta, Ga.
The Hornets came out of the gate firing as they scored six runs in the opening inning. After being held scoreless for the first three innings, Milligan scored a run apiece in the next three frames. However, Southern Poly continued to add to their lead despite a hard fought Buff effort.
As a team, Milligan recorded five hits. The Buffs defense allowed nine hits in the game.
The teams will square off on Sunday, Feb. 6, for a doubleheader. First pitch is slated for 12 p.m.
