Milligan College, Tenn. (Mar. 13, 2011) --- The Milligan College baseball team completed a weekend sweep of AAC foe Bluefield College on Sunday afternoon as they picked up an 11-2 win in a nine inning game at Anglin Field.
The Buffaloes came out of the gate quickly as they scored three runs in the first inning, and
Luke Kirk (Gate City, Va.) hit a three run homerun in the bottom of the fourth to put Milligan in control. Milligan kept the Rams at bay as they went on to the victory.
Kirk extended his hitting streak to 19 games with a 4-for-5 performance at the plate with three RBIs.
Cory Hilton (Johnson City, Tenn.) was 2-for-5 with two doubles, and
Bart Roark (Mountain City, Tenn.) was 2-for-4 with two RBIs.
On the mound,
Jordan Rawlyk (Saskatoon, Canada) got the start and the win for Milligan. In six innings of work, Rawlyk gave up five hits, four of which came in the sixth inning, and allowed two earned runs.
With the win, Milligan moves to 10-13 on the season and 3-0 in AAC action.
The Buffaloes return to action on Wednesday, March 16, when they host Southern Wesleyan University in a nine inning game. The first pitch is slated for 3 p.m.
