Buffaloes baseball blasts SWU

Milligan College, Tenn. (Mar. 16, 2010) --- The Milligan College baseball team scored four runs in the first inning and never looked back as they took a 10-0 victory over Southern Wesleyan University in eight innings on Wednesday afternoon at Anglin Field.

Freshman Luke Kirk (Gate City, Va.), who was this week's AAC Player of the week, extended his hitting streak to 20 games with a 2-for-5 performance with one RBI. Bart Roark (Mountain City, Tenn.) was 2-for-4 with three RBIs, while Ryan White (Knoxville, Tenn.) was 2-for-3 with a triple and a double.

On the mound, Sean Robinson (Knoxville, Tenn.) got the win in seven innings of work. Robinson gave up just two hits and struck out five batters as he moves to 4-1 on the year.

With the win, Milligan moves to 11-13 on the year.

The Buffaloes return to action on Friday, March 18, as they open a weekend AAC series with Virginia Intermont. First pitch at Anglin Field is slated for 6 p.m.
