Milligan College, Tenn. (Mar. 18, 2011) --- The Milligan College baseball team saw
Dustin Ford (Jonesborough, Tenn.) knock in the game winning run in the bottom of the ninth to give the Buffaloes a 2-1 AAC victory over Virginia Intermont on Friday night at Anglin Field.
Ryan White (Knoxville, Tenn.) scored the game's first run in the seventh inning off of a
Wesley Jones (Kingsport, Tenn.) RBI. After VI tied the game in the top of the eighth, Milligan responded in the ninth to take the victory when Ford drove in Jones.
Ford led the way at the plate as he was 2-for-4 with a RBI, while Jones was 1-for-2 with a double and a RBI. On the mound, Jordan Rawylk (Saskatoon, Canada) got the start and recorded the win. In eight innings of work, Rawylk struck out five batters and allowed two hits.
With the win, Milligan improves to 12-13 and 4-0 in the AAC.
The Buffaloes return to action on Saturday, March 19, when they host the Cobras for a doubleheader. The first pitch is slated for 1 p.m.
